General
As a public speaker or musician, it's often more ideal to have your hands free to drive home a particular point or simply so you can freely play your instrument and move around the stage. The Shure BLX14R-P31 is a very affordable, complete, high-quality wireless headset pack. The set consists of a BLX4R receiver that can be mounted in a 19" rack, a BLX1 belt pack transmitter and a PGA31 headset.
PGA31 headset microphone
A PGA31 headset microphone is included with this set and due to a complete redesign, provides excellent comfort even over longer periods of time. Also, while you're delivering that 2 hour lecture or show, the construction is such that you don't have to worry about it falling off your head. This electret type condenser microphone has a permanent voltage and uses a multi-directional cardioid capsule to make sure that your voice is picked up perfectly while any ambient noise is suppressed. This means you can also use this set on stage with floor monitors without fear of feedback.
Ease of use
The BLX4R receiver has two external antennas. Intelligently, the unit constantly monitors the signal of both antennas to check which is delivering the strongest signal and then switches from one to the other depending. The Quickscan function scans for the best free frequency available and tunes in automatically. All you need do is enter the same frequency on your lightweight BLX1 belt pack transmitter, get yourself connected and go!
