General

The Shure BLX14-P31 (M17, 662-686 MHz) is a wireless headset microphone that comes in a highly complete package. It's highly affordable, yet still gives you that unrivalled Shure quality. It's excellently suited for public speakers, musicians and virtually anyone that needs to amplify the sound of their voice, but needs to keep their hands free. This set comes with a PGA31 condenser microphone, a BLX4 receiver and a BLX1 transmitter. With the TA4F connector, you can easily connect the microphone to your bodypack transmitter. All that remains is to let the system find an available frequency, and set the transmitter to that same frequency.

PGA31 headset microphone

The headset microphone that comes with this set is Shure's PGA31. It was designed in such a way that it's quite robust and very comfortable at the same time, allowing you to wear it for hours on end. The PGA31 is a wireless condenser headset microphone with a cardioid pickup pattern, meaning it accurately picks up sound sources right in front of it, while suppressing sound from the sides and back. As this leaves little room for feedback, that means you can even use it on a stage with floor monitors.

BLX4 receiver

The BLX4 receiver is an easy-to-use wireless receiver. With a single press of a button, it will automatically search for the best available frequency. All you have to do is set the transmitter to the same frequency and your wireless set is good to go. For optimal signal strength, the antennas of your wireless system should also be properly attuned. However, the BLX4 features internal antennas that are already set-up properly, guaranteeing optimal reception. What's more, you won't have to worry about damaging your aerials during transport, either.
