General
The Akai Professional EWI Solo has an integrated speaker and combines the full, rich expression of an acoustic wind instrument with the awesome flexibility and playability of contemporary tech. 200 sounds come built-in, ranging from jazz clarinets to synthesizers, each of which can be customised using the included effects. The fingering can be adjusted as preferred, while the ultra-precision of the air-pressure sensor fitted inside the included mouthpiece provides absolute dynamic control.
The EWI Solo with Integrated Speaker
The Akai EWI Solo has been designed to offer ultimate freedom of movement. This cable-free model comes fitted with an integrated speaker that's been carefully calibrated to shape an authentic response and sound. It's also rechargeable via the built-in lithium-ion rechargeable battery, which gives you at least 12 hours of playing time on a full charge. This future-thinking instrument even comes fitted with a headphone output, an endlessly useful MIDI output, and a stereo audio output.

Er zit een grote variëteit aan ingebouwde geluiden in de EWI, van akoestische tot synthetische geluiden. Ze zijn wat minder expressief in vergelijking met software. Wel is het handig om te oefenen, je pakt ‘m op en je kunt direct aan de slag! Aan de Mac/pc of iPad komt de expressiviteit van het instrument pas echt volledig tot z’n recht. In vergelijking met een keyboard heb je zo veel meer invloed op het geluid! Koppel bijvoorbeeld de filter frequentie van een synth aan de blaaskracht (breath, cc2), en je hebt direct een geweldig resultaat. Of probeer een softsynth die er speciaal voor is gemaakt, de EVI-NER. Ook gemodelleerde, en daardoor heel expressieve en realistische, akoestische instrumenten zijn te verkrijgen. Bekijk daarvoor eens SWAM, die een uitgebreide collectie heeft, ook voor de iPad. De EWI is ook gemakkelijk draadloos te maken, ik gebruik de WIDI Uhost van CME, die je eventueel aan een powerbank kunt hangen voor een volledig potable setup.
