General

The original EWI ruffled a couple feathers back in the day as all of the sudden an acoustic wind instrument had been transformed into an electronic alternative. With the EWI 5000, Akai is again breaking new ground. It features a built-in sound module with a 3GB sample library by SONiVox, wireless connectivity and a rechargeable battery that keeps going for almost 12 hours.

Akai EWI 5000: 2.4GHz audio transmission

With the wireless receiver that comes with this EWI 5000 you can move around the stage freely as it transmits your sounds over the globally used 2.4Ghz frequency band. Thanks to the built-in sounds, essentially a complete orchestra, there's no need for external sound modules. Of course, MIDI controls work just as well which come in handy in the studio. The EWI 5000 is an intelligent piece of equipment; it calibrates automatically and adapts itself to your style of play!

Electronic Valve Instrument

The EWI 5000 is not just an electronic equivalent for reed players but just as much so for brass players thanks to the Electronic Valve Instrument mode. The EVI mode offers three valves for the same finger arrangements as on a trumpet for example. Or perhaps you'll opt for a different setting, like the horn. There is unlimited tweak-ability: filter, reverb, chorus, LFO, Breathe and Bite amount, semitone tuning and fine tuning can all be adjusted with the push of a button. The EWI 5000 comes complete with a neck strap, USB cable, charger and wireless receiver. Meet the evolution of an electronic all-time classic.

Zin in!
