General

The big chrome VOX logo has pretty much become the unofficial symbol of the wah-wah pedal. Throwing things all the way back, the VOX V847A Wah is directly based on the sixties original and delivers the same legendary sound but now comes with the addition of a power supply input and a buffered input, meaning that when the pedal is inactive, the sound of your guitar remains fully intact. The internal coil of this pedal has been specifically wound to match to the specifications of the original VOX wah, resulting in the same dynamic response and vintage tone.

The VOX Wah-Wah

When VOX designed the first wah-wah back in the 1960s, they were looking for a way to make a guitar sound like a muted trumpet. The unique sound that resulted quickly became the go-to tool for experimental guitarists. Now a classic effect in its own right, the Wah-Wah can be heard on a million different albums across a million different genres and is still a must-have for many musicians, whether they're weaving funk, blues, indie, rock or metal. Sweetening things further, the VOX V847A remake retains its retro look, and to really complete the vibe, even comes tucked up inside an old-school vinyl pouch.
