General

The white Dunlop GCB95W Original Crybaby wah-wah pedal is a particularly stylish modern nod to the wah-wah pedal that started it all. The effect came to fruition back in the sixties as a vocal-type effect for organs. Creative artists like Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton knew there was something special about the effect, and made it into a piece of major rock music history. Today, the unique wah-wah effect pedal is a staple in every guitarist's effect collection.

Effect of the GCB95W Original Crybaby

The GCB95W Original Crybaby literally creates a 'wah-wah' sound when you move the pedal. Simply move the pedal back and forth to get the effect that comes from the pedal filtering out everything but a particular range of your guitar's sound. In this way, you can emphasize the high frequencies from this range by pushing the pedal forward, and emphasize the lower frequencies by pushing it in the other direction. By moving the pedal back and forth, the sound changes from dull to shrill and you get the typical wah-wah sound.

Rugged, user-friendly construction

The Crybaby is easy to use. Just connect the cable from your guitar into the right jack input of the pedal, and use the left jack output to connect the pedal to your guitar amp. When you push the pedal all the way forward, the switch is pressed and you'll feel a click. Now it's just a question of giving it some gas. Move your foot slowly or quickly, in a steady or irregular rhythm. The robust GCB-95 has a robust die-cast aluminium housing for carefree user pleasure, and it can be powered by either a 9V battery or the Dunlop ECB003 AC adapter, both of which are available separately.

NAMM 2016: Maintenance-Free Tape-Echo by Dunlop

Wednesday 20 January 2016 By Lizanne

Lots of guitarists out there would love to experiment with an old-school tape echo. You know, those warm, analogue 60s-70s delays, brought about by a tape recorder with all sorts of fascinating controls. Unfortunately, there are no free rides in this world. The price of a (secondhand) tape recorder, if you can find one, is often astronomical, not to mention the costs of the cartridges and maintenance. So, Dunlop launched the EP103 Echoplex.
