General

Half the size of a standard wah, the Dunlop Cry Baby Mini 535QAR will easily slot onto the smallest of pedalboards, and to ensure that the classic warping filter effect this legend of a pedal wields sits right on top of the mix, it comes fitted with a boost switch able to fatten up the signal by up to 16dBs. The wah intensity is reined in or let loose with the Q-pot and the Range selector dials in the frequency range. This rendition of the Cry Baby also provides an ever useful auto-return function, finishing a small and efficient, but no less effective sonic-shaping tool.

De Cry Baby klinkt geweldig. De veer die het pedaal terug omhoog duwt als je je voet van het pedaal af haalt kraakt een beetje bij het gebruik van de wah, maar dat is met wat smeermiddel zo verholpen. Het is even wennen dat het pedaal zo klein is, maar al gauw merk je er niet veel meer van en het neemt lekker weinig ruimte in. De verschillende settings zijn fijn om te hebben en je kunt de wah precies zo instellen als je zelf prettig vindt. Ik vind persoonlijk de auto return erg prettig. Geen gedoe met knoppen indrukken, gewoon je voet erop zetten en gaan!

MXR recently collaborated with some well-known artists to design some new pedals. In the case of the DD25 Dookie Drive that was Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day. For the BFG07 Siete Santos Octavio Fuzz they enlisted the help of Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top. Not to be outdone, Dunlop worked with Jerry Cantrell from Alice In Chains to create the JC95B Cry Baby Wah.
