General

The Sony ICD-SX733 is a 10cm long handheld voice recorder that offers a choice selection of options and is powered by a rechargeable battery. The silver and black exterior of the recorder houses three built-in directional microphones that record perfect stereo sound. The most extensive frequency response - which goes with the highest level of audio quality you can select - ranges from 40 to 20,000 Hz. The quality of your recordings is further enhanced by several practical functions, and you can instantly play back your recordings using the included headphones or via the built-in speaker. The 4GB internal memory can easily be expanded by means of a microSD card, and you're able to transfer your recordings to your PC by means of an included USB cable and special software. Interviews, quotes, meetings, you name it - the Sony OCD-SX733 can handle them all.

Recording

The Sony ICD-SX733 records audio in MP3 or LPCM format. LPCM offers two options for sound quality: 44.1 kHz/16 bits, or 96.1 kHz/24 bits. MP3 allows you to choose between a sound quality of 48, 128, 192 or 320 kbps. The bit rate you select affects both the recording time and battery life of the recorder. The higher the audio quality, the less and the shorter you'll be able to record. The ICD-SX733 is equipped with three great built-in microphones, but if you like you can also connect an external microphone to the special input of the recorder. You'll have even more recording options to choose from!

Functions

Look at the product specifications of the Sony ICD-SX733, and you'll see an impressive list of functions. One of these, the Intelligent Noise Cut function, will benefit your recordings instantly without taking any effort on your part. It suppresses background noise and emphasises the speech in your recordings. The VOR function allows you to specify a minimum audio level, ensuring the ICD-SX733 records only the loudest sounds. All of these and other functions can be selected by means of the LCD display of the recorder, which also enables you to quickly and easily view and manage your audio files. The Sony ICD-SX733 handheld voice recorder is supplied with software, a USB cable, a pair of stereo headphones, a carry case and a special stand.
