General
The Philips DVT6000 - a handheld voice recorder with a large colour display - is ideal for recording lectures and interviews. The rugged metal exterior of this manageable recorder houses no fewer than three microphones. Activate the special 3Mic AutoZoom+ function, and the DVT6000 will centre its recordings on the middle microphone, automatically adjusting itself to the distance between speaker and recorder. This way, you're able to record audio sources that are up to fifteen metres away loud and clear. The DVT6000 is supplied with a pair of stereo headphones, so you can listen to your own recordings or to the built-in FM radio.
DVT6000: special functions
In addition to AutoZoom+, the DVT6000 has a couple more tricks up its sleeve. It is equipped with a motion sensor, which determines whether it is placed on a table or held by hand, so the recording sensitivity can be automatically adjusted accordingly. The ClearVoice and AutoAdjust+ functions ensure extra-clear voice recordings. Have you pressed the Record button just a little too late? No worries, the pre-recording function of the DVT6000 can help you out, by including the five seconds before the start of your recording in the stored audio file. You can also set the handheld Philips recorder to start recording as soon as you start speaking, or connect an optional external microphone to its 3.5mm input.
Storage, data transfer and battery charging
The DVT6000 records audio in MP3 or WAV format. Select the highest possible audio quality, and the 4GB internal memory allows for six hours of audio recordings. If sound quality is of lesser importance, the recorder can store up to 1,140 hours of audio, and you can also use the designated slot to upgrade your storage capacity with a microSD card of up to 32 GB. The DVT6000 is supplied with a USB cable that allows you to transfer your audio files to your PC, Mac or Linux computer. Connect the recorder and it shows up as a mass storage device. Once it is connected, the DVT6000 will automatically start charging its battery (a full battery will last up to 50 hours). If you like, you can even transfer MP3 files from your computer to the recorder, so you can use it as an MP3 player.
