If you need good recordings for your work as a journalist, for example, then the Olympus WS-852 will make an excellent companion. Its stereo microphones are mounted at right angles so every voice is captured, even when the speaker isn't facing the device. They also reduce noise, and the intelligent automatic mode establishes a balance between the speaking and recording volume levels.

If you want to navigate through your recorded material and find your preferred settings withough any hassle, (the seminar setting, for example), Olympus has designed a special mode just for you: a simplified menu to quickly and easily record just what you need. In a larger setting, you can choose to place the WS-852 in its stand instead of holding it.

High quality, long life span

If you use this device to record in MP3 format at 128 kbps, you can capture 65 hours of material. When you record at 8 kbps, you can capture almost 20 times that much (1,040 hours). Insert the two supplied AAA batteries and you can enjoy 110 hours of recording time, or 90 if you also use the device for playback. When the WS-852 is finally full and you want to organise your files on your computer, simply extend the USB connector on the top and connect it. If you want to record a conversation with someone, you can opt to connect a lavalier microphone to the recorder.
