The Mackie EM-USB is definitely a USB microphone, but actually does way more. This large-diaphragm microphone simply connects directly to your PC or Mac via USB, and without the need of any drivers, is automatically detected by any recording programme, where it can be selected as your source input. Just in case you don't have any recording software, a copy of Protools First and all of the plug-ins it has to offer has been included. The Element USB microphone even provides a headphone output with volume control so you essentially have an audio interface and studio-quality condenser microphone complete with monitor-output in one sleekly finished slice of gear.
