Blue’s Snowball is an affordable and simple plug-and-play USB condenser microphone with a clear and open sound. It comes in three colours, white, black and this neat ‘Brushed Aluminium’-type. The Blue Snowball Brushed Aluminium works well with your PC, Mac or iPad and does not require the installation of any drivers. Thanks to the switchable pickup pattern it can be used very universally. Whether you are recording your guitar at the kitchen table, your band in a rehearsal room or vocals in the studio; the Blue Snowball can handle it!
Snowball Brushed Aluminium: switchable pickup pattern
The Snowball is a condenser microphone that registers every detail optimally. The pickup pattern can be controlled via a switch at the back. It allows you to switch between cardioid and omnidirectional. For recording loud sound sources, like guitar amplifiers or brass instruments, the Snowball can also be switched to a third setting. This will attenuate the signal of the cardioid pickup pattern with 10 dB.
Windows, PC and iPad
The Blue Snowball is delivered complete with a practical desktop stand and a USB cable. The stable stand can be adjusted in height and this allows you to place your condenser microphone at the ideal height. Thanks to the plug-and-play principle, no drivers need to be installed on your PC or Mac. You need a USB adaptor for your Apple iPad to work with this.

Introductie:
Ik heb dit microfoon gekocht voor mijn vriend omdat hij graag filmpjes wou maken.
Voor ik de microfoon aan hem gaf had ik het zelf getest om te kijken of die goed werkte en het geluids- kwaliteit goed is.
Het geluid werkt geweldig, ik heb geen ruis gehad en de kwaliteit van geluid is algemeen goed. Het enige probleem is dat het geluid een klein beetje zacht is, maar niet zo erg dat het iets verpest. Je moet de microfoon wat dichter bij de geluidsbron zetten om dat te fixen.
Functies:
Achter op de microfoon zit er een schakelaar met 3 standen:
Stand #1: Cardioid capsule
- Het geluid wordt alleen van voren geregistreerd. Dus je moet van voren praten.
- Geluid rondom de microfoon bijvoorbeeld geluid in de kamer is dan heel er gedempt.
- Goed te gebruiken voor podcasts, gewoon er in praten
Stand #2: Cardioid capsule -10db
- Bijna zelfde functies als bij stand #1
- Het geluid onder 10 decibel wordt niet geregistreerd
- Goed te gebruiken voor luide dingen zoals zingen of voor de microfoon een instrument te spelen
Stand #3: Omni capsule
- Registreerd alle geluid rondom de microfoon, dus ook achtergrondgeluid wordt geregistreerd
- Goed te gebruiken als er meerdere mensen rondom de microfoon zitten te praten bijvoorbeeld een interview
VS Blue snowball ICE
Blue Snowball ICE is ongeveer hetzelfde microfoon alleen zonder de 3 functies. De enige stand op Snowball ICE is Stand #1: Cardioid capsule. Als je voor puur podcast en van voren spreken gaat dan kan je de Blue Snowball ICE halen.
Als je niet precies weet wat je van plan bent dan zou ik 10 euro meer betalen en voor de Blue Snowball gaan.
Pros:
- Geen software nodig, je doet de usb in en het werkt meteen
- Een heel goede geluidskwaliteit
- Heel flexiebel in wat je wilt doen door de 3 standen
- Goedkoop voor zo'n goede kwaliteit
Cons:
- Geluid kan een beetje zacht zijn maar het is te fixen door de microfoon dichter bij de geluidsbron zetten
- Geen software, kleine aanpassingen aan de microfoon is lastiger en het gebruiken van andere software is dan daarvoor nodig.
Bax-shop service:
De service was heel goed en alles is heel snel binnengekomen. Ik had het zaterdag om 23:00 besteld en het was al op zondag verzonden. En maandag heb ik het pakket gekregen.
De Blu Snowball Bleu USB- condensator- microfoon, geeft een deweldge,
zuivere geluids opname van de stem als voice.
Ook muziek opname's in een kleine ruimte gaat ook zeer goed.
De Snowball heeft achterop een 3 standen schakelaar.
Achtergrond geluiden bij voice-over worden zo goed als niet of helemaal niet mee opgenomen.
De Snowball is perfect voor voice-over, interviews, zang en akoestische instrumenten.
En dit voor een hele betaalbare prijs.
Dankzij het Plug en Play systeem kon ik de mic. meteen gebruiken, zodra de USB is aangesloten op de Apple I-Mac.
Ik werk met Final Cut Pro X, dat werk het heel simpel, met een klik wordt de voice-over op de juiste plek onder flim geimporteerd.
Al met al een perfecte prijs- kwaliteit verhouding voor een mooie stijlvolle microfoon.
