Ortega's RU5MM-CE is an electro-acoustic ukulele in the popular concert size. Part of the Bonfire Series, this particularly warm-sounding model has an all-sapele build finished with a sleek satin-gloss coating. The laser engraved top is a welcome and refreshing touch, and so is the cutaway in the body that provides eased access to the highest of the 18 frets. To record its cheerful sound, the RU5MM-CE can be plugged into an acoustic amp or audio interface via the MagusUke preamp, which even features a handy built-in tuner so you're always assured of flawless tone.
