The Baritone model from the amplified Bonfire Series has all the details found on its smaller counterparts. The Ortega RU5CE-BA is finished by an elegant little engraving in the spruce top and tortoiseshell binding around the mahogany back and sides. This ukulele has a bright and warm voice shaped by a set of UWNY-4-BA strings and is easily amplified via the fitted piëzo pickup and Ortega MagusUke preamplifier complete with built-in tuner.

Wrote the following about Ortega Bonfire Series RU5CE-BA Baritone Ukulele

Besteld als kerstgeschenk, bericht van Bax-shop gekregen dat de ukelele pas geleverd kon worden in week 52, toch nog uitgeleverd de dag vóór Kerstmis. Dat viel dus mee.
Wat de instrument zelf betreft: verbazend goed afgewerkt, ook in de 'moeilijke' kleine hoekjes waar de cutaway aansluit bij de zij- en achterkant van de body en de hiel van de hals. Een bekend probleem met de wat goedkopere Chinese snaarinstrumenten zijn soms scherpe fretrandjes. Die ontbreken hier totaal. De D-snaar klinkt oké maar is niet egaal van kleur - ziet er nieuw uit de doos al wat versleten uit.
Blijft goed op stemming, hals is recht, actie is niet te hoog, ingebouwde tuner doet het goed.
Klank is oké, stiller dan ik gewoon ben van een klassieke gitaar maar daardoor net heel geschikt voor het begeleiden van mijn - beperkte - zangcapaciteiten. Versterkt klinkt het ding ook goed, zonder storende bijgeluiden. Ik heb voorzichtig geprobeerd de grenzen van mogelijke feedback op te zoeken, maar heb die niet bereikt - dat ligt mogelijk aan de niet al te krachtige (oefen)basversterker die ik momenteel ter beschikking heb. Ik kijk ernaar uit om de uke te proberen op m'n oude Fender Super Champ 18W.
