General
This unique pineapple-shaped ukulele is the PKC-250G by Ohana. It's the larger version of the 25G, which is apparent by the similar materials and elegant finish used. As far as size is concerned, the concert model is slightly larger than a soprano, which means it's a little easier to play, especially if you have large fingers. With 19 frets at your disposal, you've got a wide range to work with.
Acacia pineapple
This PKC-250G has a solid top made of spruce and a body made of acacia, which is what gives it its warm tone. The oval shape of this concert ukulele also contributes to its bright sound. The open-gear headstock with chrome tuners not only looks good, it offers great tuning stability as well. All the details of this instrument are truly tasteful, such as the red and green rosette and black and white mahogany binding. With this ukulele's sound and appearance, you're going to steal the show!

Het geluid is, zeker voor een ukulele, dof en vlak. De hoogglans ziet er misschien mooi uit (hoewel dat een kwestie van smaak is, ik vind zelf instrumenten waar het hout meer op de voorgrond staat wat mooier), maar ik heb de indruk dat het dit keer ten nadele is van de klank.
Bovendien maakt het de ukulele erg glad en daardoor lastig om goed vast te houden; dat is iets waar veel beginnende ukulele spelers last van hebben. Zelf vind ik het ook nog wel eens moeilijk, vooral bij wat mee ingewikkelde, snellere stukken.
Het slotted headstock ziet er aardig uit, maar het is erg zwaar; dat zorgt ervoor dat het instrument aan de linkerkant ahw steeds naar beneden wil zakken terwijl je speelt.
Alles bij elkaar; looks zijn niet alles!
De klank en het speelgemak zijn teleurstellend.
