General
After much studying, rehearsing and playing at home, it's wonderful to finally get to play your ukulele on stage. Of course, you'll want to do that amplified, and that won't be a problem with the Ohana CK-20CE electro-acoustic ukulele! It features a cutout so you you can easily reach the highest frets, and it also has a three-band EQ so you have full control over your sound.
Ohana CK-20CE electro-acoustic ukulele: mahogany top
This electro-acoustic ukulele by Ohana features a solid mahogany top and mahogany sides and back. This rugged wood type produces an incredibly clear, warm and open sound. Rosewood was used for the bridge and fretboard, and the headstock features high-quality tuners to ensure optimal tuning stability. This ukulele features lovely body bindings along the sides and back and comes with Aquila strings.
The ukulele: worldwide popularity across genres
While the sound of the ukulele is commonly associated with Hawaiian music, this instrument became popular in other parts of the world during the period between WWI and WWII. The ukulele quickly became an icon of the jazz age, and in the 1879s, more and more professional and amateur musicians discovered the instrument. People began sharing chords and tabs of songs that were popular at the time, which were eventually published as sheet music. Although the guitar eventually took over from the ukulele during the rock 'n' roll era, the portable and affordable uke gained popularity once again during the '90s; and since then, its popularity hasn't waned.
