In the otherworldly form of the 23" U FreeBoost, LAVA unleash a truly innovative electro-acoustic concert ukulele. The carbon-fibre construction is one complete ukulele-shaped piece without a join in sight while inside, special BreatheNet bracing helps shape and elevate the tone. The result is an unbelievably comfortable body shape and an awesome clarity of sound that gives all of your playing dynamics uncompromising presence. This ultra-modern and elegant design is also insanely stable and to keep it that way, LAVA have included a hyper-futuristic Space Case complete with fitted window so your alien ukulele is always on show.
The LAVA U FreeBoost: Self-Generating Effects
The boffins at Double Acoustics have joined forces with LAVA Music to develop the L2 Mini Preamp that comes discreetly integrated into the body of this concert ukulele. Of course, this gives the instrument its pure amplified sound, but also provides built-in effects that can be used to drench the sound in reverb, delay, or chorus, whether you've plugged it in or not! Simply charge up the preamp using the included USB cable and you get fully-effected acoustic sound, as well as amplified. Other more practical (but just as important) details include the light fretboard radius, which only adds to the masses of playing comfort that's already on offer.

The Uke was very well packaged in a case in a poly container in a box in another box so very safe and sound.
Once you open the case which is very well put together and has a very upmarket feel to it the Uke feels sturdy and looks good the intonation was good a quick tune up and ready to play. First I tried the electronics which are very good I was pleasantly surprised, the delay I could play with all day.
Without going on too long its amazing the only gripe I have is that when you get higher up the fretboard it sometimes sounds a little squeaky but its not a big deal.
I would say that this is a perfect starter model if you have the cash or it is at least one to aspire to owning I am really pleased with mine.
Top tip by a strap as you will need one it is a bit slippery but dont let that put you off the strap is like £10.
