If you're ready to take the ukulele-plunge and want to hit the ground running, check out this couldn't-be-more-complete Kala starter pack. First off, it includes a great Kala 15S Series concert uke with a mahogany body and a rosewood fretboard. Ideal for players with larger hands, this model is slightly bigger than a 'normal' soprano ukulele, produces a rich, warm foundation sound, and has been coated in satin-gloss for a smooth feel. Next to the uke, you get a padded gig bag stamped with the Kala logo, a chromatic clip-on tuner for quick and easy tune-ups, an ever-useful carry strap and, last but not least, a spare pack of Aquila Bio-Nylon strings. If all of that doesn't make a complete starter pack, we don't know what does!

De startersset is een mooie set. Alles zit erin om een goede start te maken. Ik vind het ook een mooie set om te zien. Alleen heeft de ukelele een erg warme klank. Hier moet je van houden, maar het lijkt niet op het bekende geluid van een ukelele. Ik vond het persoonlijk een erg galmende klank. Ik heb deze set dan ook omgeruild in het filiaal van Amsterdam. In de winkel werd ik goed geholpen en heb ik uiteindelijk de keuze gemaakt voor een ukelele van Flight (Flight Supernatural Series DUC440 Acacia Concert met gigbag).
Het is echt aan te raden om in de winkel te kijken wat je koopt in plaats van online te bestellen. De ukeleles kan je dan mooi uitproberen. Je kunt vragen stellen aan deskundige medewerkers. Je weet ook gelijk wat je koopt. Omdat veel ukeleles van hout zijn gemaakt, kunnen de klanken afwijken. Zelfs als ze uit dezelfde serie komen.
