The DU-105 Rainbow soprano ukulele by Diamond Head is excellent value for money. It's ideal for beginners and is built to last, as its body and top are made of maple, a wood type that gives this uke a clear tone and great sustain. The hardwood fretboard provides bright overtones and is comfortable to play as well. Tuning this ukulele is done by means of four metal machine heads on the headstock. Diamond Head's Rainbow series ukuleles are available in literally a rainbow of colours and each comes with its own matching gig bag!
Diamond Head
The ukulele originates from Hawaii and is based on the traditional Portuguese cavaquinho. Portuguese immigrants brought the cavaquinho with them to the tropical island of Hawaii more than a century ago, and it evolved over time into the ukulele as we know it today. It is now Hawaii's official instrument and keeps gaining popularity. The brand Diamond Head borrowed their name from a special place in Honolulu, Hawaii, to honour the traditional heritage of this special instrument. When you invest in one of their well-built ukuleles, you can be sure to enjoy it for years to come!
