The D'Addario CT-12 Micro Headstock Tuner has a length of only three centimetres so you have every right to call it 'micro'. It can be easily clipped to the headstock of your instrument unnoticed and this accurate little tuner has a colour screen so you can refine your tuning with precision. If you're left-handed, the screen can be flipped via a dedicated button, so it can be easily viewed when clipped to left-handed headstocks and the frequency can be calibrated between 410 to 480 Hz using the arrow buttons.

Ik ben over het algemeen geen fan van headstock stemapparaten, omdat ze in luide omgevingen moeite kunnen hebben met het registreren van de snaren. Headstock stemapparaten werken op de trillingen van het hout die worden opgewekt door het bewegen van de snaren. Wanneer je op een podium staat en er meerdere instrumenten iets spelen, zijn die trillingen dus lastiger te registreren. De CT-12 heeft daar echter weinig tot geen last van. Dit stemapparaat werkt dus prima voor de gitarist die ook op een luid podium wil stemmen. Het enige waar ik wat minder enthousiast over ben is het clip mechanisme. Dat mechanisme voelt nogal fragiel aan, maar als je er gewoon voorzichtig mee omgaat is er helemaal niks aan de hand en kan hij lang mee.
Bij vele stemapraatjes is de weergave wat nerveus, maar bij dit exemplaar goed stabiel en duidelijk.
In het donker is het scherm heel goed zichtbaar en wordt de snaar en de stemming helder weergegeven. In de volle zon (optreden op een festival) heb ik het niet uitgeprobeerd.
