The Yamaha MP SL 46B S mouthpiece for trombone (small shank) has a beautiful high register and brilliant intonation with a fairly sharp shoulder.
The Standard series
Of the 150 or so mouthpieces for brass instruments that Yamaha produces, the majority are from the Standard series. The mouthpieces from this series are manufactured with the most modern computer and production technology by Yamaha's specialists. The results are three-fold: great sound, excellent playability and the ideal weight. Though the physical differences may be hard for the naked eye to see at times, the littlest changes in a mouthpiece can make the biggest differences in sound and playability, making a new mouthpiece well worth consideration.
