The Fazley DRH DO Double Oil drum head has a 10" diameter and a transparent double-ply construction with just a touch of oil between each layer for a little natural dampening. This not only makes tuning up a much smoother process, but removes the need to use any damping material. A durable and solid head for solid sound.

Fijn drumvel en de demping die erin zit werkt goed. Vel snel geinstalleerd en drum gestemd.
Hij drumt fijn nu weer fijn met dit vel, het klinkt OK en hij is vind het doorzichtige ook mooi.
Voor de prijs is het een erg mooi en fijn goed klinkend vel.
Ik heb het gezet op een 10" Tama Club Jam Vintage tom.
Er zijn vele verslagen te lezen her en der over hoe deze drums opknappen door het vervangen van de standaard Tama slagvellen met upgrade vellen.
Ik kreeg die tom niet aan het klinken zonder te dempen, alleen vel demping, ik wil geen binnendemping in een 10" tom.
Wel in de lagere regionen, maar dan zat het te dicht bij de floortom tuning.
In het hoog kreeg ik gewoon constant irritante boventonen, die bij vel demping (ring of gel) wel verdwenen, maar dan was ook gelijk alle sustain weg.
Hoewel ik hou van open, natural sustain, besloot ik deze Fazley te proberen. Olievel dus.
Waarvan het bekend is dat je moeilijker te stemmen toms beter klinkend krijgt, maar ook minder sustain overhoudt.
Het valt bepaald niet tegen:
- gelijk de lelijke boventonen weg
- ook hoog gestemd mooie ronde toon, zonder een enkele demping.
- laag gestemd zijn olievellen helemáál moddervet
- houdt de stemming vele, vele malen beter vast dan het standaard Tama vel, wat ontstemd binnen no-time.
Wat dat betreft klopt het verkoopargument van dit vel zoals hier te lezen is in de productomschrijving, dat er geen externe demping nodig.
De bespeelbaarheid is niet of nauwelijks anders dan met het originele vel, wat echt een stuk rommel is.
Voor dit geld is het het experimenteren zeker waard.
