Waldorf 2-Pole Analogue Filter module
Product no: 9000-0009-1573 Bax Music Warranty: This product comes with a 3-year warranty.

General

Throughout the years, Waldorf has acquired a reputation for building fantastic analogue filters. In the past decades, filters have played an increasingly big part in pop music, and the 2-Pole reflects that development. This filter module with its rugged square housing is a powerful tool for DJs, (bass) guitarists and key players who’d like to work with the Waldorf sound. Thanks to the one-knob-per-function setup you won’t have to deal with complicated sub menus or untraceable settings. With the 2-Pole you can enjoy hands-on control during your gigs!

Control elements

The Waldorf 2-Pole is an analogue filter module with a central cutoff knob. A filter section offers rectify, resonance, env mod and drive knobs, and allows you to switch between low-pass, band-pass and high-pass options. The 2-Pole’s LFO section - with depth and speed knobs -lends delectable richness to your pad sounds. The range switch betrays the filter module’s German origins, offering you a choice of fast, slow and gemütlich.

2-Pole: envelope section and CV connectors

The envelope section of the 2-Pole offers you attack, decay, threshold and hold time knobs, as well as a switch for waveform selection. Three special CV inputs enable you to control envelope, cutoff and gate. Spice up your guitar licks by plugging a pedal controller into the cutoff CV input, for instance! Gain and output level knobs enable you to control the incoming and outgoing audio. The Waldorf 2-Pole is powered by means of a 12-volt adapter.

Alom tevreden

NAMM 2016: Casio MZ-X: A New MZ-2000?

Monday 11 January 2016

The image below recently turned up on the internet. Based on the text and the accompanying specifications, we assume that Casio is trying to lure us to their NAMM booth so they can present their latest keyboard/synthesizer: the MZ-X. This will likely remind keyboard enthusiasts of the MZ-2000, an old Casio model that, considering the words 'Reinvented, Reimagined, Reborn' is apparently about to be brought back to life. Rumour has it that two models will be released, the MZ-500 and the MZ-1000, but take that with a grain of salt; it's very possible that MZ-X is indeed the final name for this workstation.

NAMM 2016: Back to the '80s with Electro Harmonix

Tuesday 12 January 2016

Late last year, Electro Harmonix introduced the Crash Pad Analog Drum Synth, and at NAMM 2016 they'll be unleashing the Super Space Drum. Where the Crash Pad creates electronic cymbal sounds, the Space Drum generates a typically '80s drum sound - electronic yet warm and full of character. It can be used as either a standalone unit, or in combination with a looper or clock generator, for instance.
