General

Analogue Solutions' Nyborg-24 is an analogue monophonic synthesizer that has a compact, robust, retro-style housing made of steel and aluminium. Its voice and modulation circuits give it an authentic retro sound. The entire signal path is based on classic '70s designs and the MIDI to CV circuit is very stable. Because the VCO Sub Oscillator is connected to the mixer, a broad palette of sounds are available without patching.

Nyborg-24: huge bass, synth leads, percussion, effects, modular style sounds and more.

This analogue synth was designed by a musician who is a big fan of electronic music and, as such, everything has been carefully considered and put together with practicality in mind. All of the sounds and effects that are most commonly used are easily accessible. If you want to add even more sounds, the Nyborg-24 can be easily combined with its stable mate, the Nyborg-12.

Intuitive

The MIDI connectors make it easy to combine the Nyborg-24 with other equipment like an external analogue sequencer like the Oberkorn, or a MIDI keyboard, for instance. If you use CV and MIDI at the same time, you can even use your keyboard to control sequencer functions. Analogue Solutions have designed the Nyborg-24 to be as intuitive to use as possible so that you can focus on making music without having to invest lots of time in programming.

NAMM 2016: Casio MZ-X: A New MZ-2000?

Monday 11 January 2016

The image below recently turned up on the internet. Based on the text and the accompanying specifications, we assume that Casio is trying to lure us to their NAMM booth so they can present their latest keyboard/synthesizer: the MZ-X. This will likely remind keyboard enthusiasts of the MZ-2000, an old Casio model that, considering the words 'Reinvented, Reimagined, Reborn' is apparently about to be brought back to life. Rumour has it that two models will be released, the MZ-500 and the MZ-1000, but take that with a grain of salt; it's very possible that MZ-X is indeed the final name for this workstation.
