General

If the name, Keith R. Klawitter means nothing to you, his initials will: KRK. Behringer have specifically developed this 10-inch subwoofer for the studio according a design from Mr. KRK himself. The Behringer NEKKST K10S active sub is a 180 Watt reference-class beast built to growl the lowest frequencies. Wave-Guide technology ensures outstanding sound production and an accurate imaging of the deepest and darkest corners of the mix. With an adjustable lowpass-filter and phase-shifter, the perfect crossover frequency can be dialed into to match your satellite monitors.

The Importance of Low Frequencies

You can't mix what you can't hear. A standard nearfield monitor will be able to dive as deep as 40 or 60Hz but cannot go any further. To make sure that every depth of nuance that a kick drum or 5-string bass can produce, you need to start drilling even further and down to the 31Hz mark. A large church-style organ can even scrape 16Hz.
