With the Gibbon Series studio monitors, the ever-eccentric Monkey Banana release a number of amazingly balanced active monitors built to do a wide variety of jobs - perfect for the slightly more confined studio! Teamed up with a 1" silk-dome tweeter, the 5.25" woofer inside the Gibbon 5 is able to deliver consistent, sonically flexible sound that can be injected with a fat dose of bass if you decide to expand your set-up with Monkey Banana's Gibbon 10 subwoofer. Even then, everything remains nice and compact while still offering you the versatility you'd expect of a pair of way more expensive studio monitors.

Mijn twijfel bestond voornamelijk uit het niet kunnen vinden van vele reviews zoals de KRK's. Als je kijkt naar enkel specificaties hebben de KRK's een groter bereik en de Gibbon's meer vermogen. Specificaties hier op Bax kloppen niet helemaal. Bestelling omgezet met een telefoontje, mega vriendelijk te woord gestaan door Victor - echt een leuk gesprek!
Om ze aan te sluiten op mijn iMac heb ik gekozen voor de M-Audio M-Track Hub aangezien ik het alleen ga gebruiken om muziek te luisteren (Spotify/Tidal).
De afwerking van de speakers is zeer mooi, ze voelen kwalitatief aan en het geluid is echt waanzinnig. Uiteraard is dat laatste wat subjectief - dat begrijp ik zelf ook ;). Mede door de goeie ervaring met een andere bestelling en de 60 dagen retourrecht heb ik de bestelling van deze Gibbon's doorgezet.
Ik ben zeer tevreden over het geluid, de afwerking en de looks! Zou ze al beginner zeker kunnen aanraden, de ervaring is totaal anders dan standaard pc speakers. Liedjes die ik al tig keer gehoord had klonken ineens anders en ik herkende nieuwe instrumenten.
