'Less is more' is a popular phrase, which Mackie has conveniently applied to studio, home entertainment and multimedia system wiring with the introduction of their CR4BT monitors. Despite cutting back on cables, though, these speakers still deliver high-quality audio! What makes these monitors speakers truly unique, however, is their speaker placement switch, which allows you to decide which side of your setup has volume control. The Mackie CR4BTs deliver 50 Watts of power.
The Mackie CR4BTs: Bridging the Gap Between Professional and Home Use
In essence, the CR4BT monitors combine the best of Mackie's CR3 and CR4 series, effectively bridging the gap between professional and home users. They're equipped with a 4" polypropylene woofer and a 0.75" silk dome tweeter that produces tight, articulated trebles. Plug your headphones into the front-mounted headphone output, and you can control their volume using the monitor's volume knob with LED ring, which doubles as an on/off switch. That means you don't have to refer to your external audio interface or DAW for volume control!
Bluetooth interface
The CR4BT monitors are easily paired up with any Bluetooth device, and the Bluetooth LED you'll find on the front panel keeps you informed of the status of your connection. You'll be able to stream audio from any device that supports this functionality, including smartphones and tablets. Imagine how easy that makes it to compare mixes, or to simply enjoy your favourite music or videos! Using the front-mounted aux input, you can also connect other audio sources.

Jammer genoeg is het kwalitatief aan de binnenkant wat minder en is er duidelijk op bespaard.
Mijn CR4s kregen net buiten de garantieperiode een probleem met de mute functie, wat een veelvoorkomend probleem blijkt te zijn. Deze valt wel te reparen maar bij het openen van de monitor viel op dat de kwaliteit van de electronica te wensen overliet. Enkele stukken zaten los, andere kwamen los.
Ik zou eerder wat meer uitgeven en andere monitors kopen. Met de Tannoy reveals en de KrK rokkits heb je toch wat betere kwaliteit dan deze tegenvaller van Mackie.
