General

Anyone who's spent time in home production studios will recognize the yellow woofers featured at the centre of these snow white KRK monitors. Just skim the surface of our KRK category and you'll see that a number of the models feature those beautiful yellow woofers that are so often found in studio photos. DJs and producers have learned how much their music can benefit from adding the KRK RP6 G3 active studio monitor to their collection.

You'll find that the screws in the new and improved G3W have been skillfully concealed to create a smooth, sleek exterior. The front baffle has also been streamlined to improve sound projection. This white speaker is certainly an excellent resource for DJs and producers who want a clean white look in their studio.

RP6 G3: reputation

One of the features that makes these near-field monitors so popular with DJs and producers is the excellent price/quality ratio. You know you're getting the best for what you're paying, and you won't have to break the bank to do it! The 6-inch woofer offers nice, deep bass tones - ideal for heavier mixing work in genres such as electro and dance music. Furthermore, the tweeter provides a detailed high range that can reach up to 35,000 Hz! You won't have any trouble finding the ideal placement for these studio monitors either; the bass port is located on the front specifically for this purpose, so you can place the speakers close to walls or even in corners without affecting the sound.

The benefit of studio monitors

If you've never worked with studio monitors, then your studio has been missing a vital element. Studio monitors are made to provide neutral sound reproduction, in contrast with HiFi speakers, which are intended to make everything sound as beautiful as possible. Active studio monitors like the RP6 are also better equipped and more robust, and because they have their own amplifiers built in, the woofer and tweeter are perfectly amplified every time. The 25 and 20W amplification for the woofer and tweeter respectively is more than enough for studio use. Finally, the RP6 has an equalizer for low and high frequencies, though it should ideally only be used to offset non-neutral studio acoustics.
