This is a fab interface. I bought it because I wanted to reduce latency as much as possible and it does the job. As a solo musician it works brilliantly (I only ever have one instrument/mic in at a time. NOTE: this is not just a plug-in-and-play interface (as opposed to something like the focusrite interfaces) it will take some time getting to grips with in terms of setting up and then navigating between the hardware and the software that comes with it (TotalMixFX) but there is a wealth of help via the manual, Babyface forums and folks on YouTube giving tutorials. I don't imagine, as a bedroom musician, needing another interface beyond this.

Very good piece of kit. I upgraded from a Focusrite 3rd gen. 2i2 to this, and there is a clear difference in stability. With the Focusrite I used to get occasional pops and clicks after a while regardless of which packet size I set up but I've not had that whatsoever with the Babyface. Currently using a samplesize of 48, the lowest I can select, and I have no issues.

The RME TotalMix software is more advanced than what Focusrite offers, Focusrite is more beginner oriented. It took me about an hour to set up the software to my requirements, and I expect it will take a few hours more to master it. The audio routing capabilities specifically are a feature I am excited to use.

I plan to use this interface for a large variety of tasks on a Windows PC. Audio recording, playing midi instruments in a DAW, livestreaming, video games, general media consumption. High stability and low input/output latency are my main priorities, and it really seems the Babyface delivers. It seems RME really understands what they are doing.

This is a piece of professional equipment, extreme fidelity, low end is tight, mids transparent and articulated,high-end crisp and clear. Not to mention specs data overall,it is clear that it have all specs of high-end RME products.Built as a tank,RME drivers are industry benchmark, sound quality is stellar, one input for high impendance headphone listening and other input for low impendance listening, both outputs are controlled with two separate chipset.Total mix is very powerfull and you have a feeling that you working with hardware console.Warmly recomended.
