General

Genelec is known for producing profession products that really come into their own in the studio. With the M series though, Genelec is reaching out to a new audience. To be specific, the M040 is intended for home and hobby use! This active studio monitor is an excellent choice for use in smaller spaces, making it perfect for home studios!

Features of the M040

The M040 is bound to turn heads with its unique design. You'll also be happy to know that it was designed with the environment in mind, and as such is equipped with a stand-by mode, which switches the monitor to inactive when the monitor it hasn't been used for a longer period of time. Of course, as soon as it detects an audio signal it springs back to life! The housing is also earth-friendly, as it is made from recyclable, die-cast material that is strengthened with wood and fibres.

Natural power of the M040

The housing was designed in such a way as to drastically reduce resonance to provide a natural, distortion-free sound. The sound reproduction actually happens via a 6.5-inch woofer and a 1-inch tweeter, which are powered by a class D bi-amp module. It's easy to connect your audio source via XLR, 6.35mm jack or RCA.
