General

This coaxial studio monitor by Genelec is something else. The sound is produced from a single source instead of multiple sources (separate tweeter and woofer). This has great advantages for the mix because the tone doesn't change when you move your head to the side. The coaxial Genelec 8351A 3-way studio monitor in white is a high-end product engineered especially for professional mixing engineers.

Genelec 8351A: SAM monitor system

Genelec's past studio monitors, as well as most available on the market, are quite rectangular, but this 8351A is rounded. The cabinet has been specially designed to prevent unwanted resonance. SAM stands for Smart Active Monitor, which enables you to configure the monitor settings via a computer. Using the program AutoCalc, you can correct the parameters of the monitor depending on the space it's being used in, which results in an extremely accurate mix.

Overview

Monitors by Genelec can be found in amateur and professional recording studios around the world. This is due to the authenticity of the audio they produce and pure frequency response. The 8315A boasts a range of 32 Hz to 40 kHz; what's more, this monitor can deliver an SPL of 110 dB. It features a balanced XLR input, an AES/EBU input and a Cat connection for hooking the speaker up to your computer.
