This outstanding chunk of progressive, studio-focussed technology is an unmissable tool when it comes to the mixing and mastering phase. With the Genelec 8340A active studio monitor, you're assured one of the most reliable and honest tools in the industry, which is exactly why Genelec sit on top of the studio gear game. The 6.5 inch woofer and 0.75 inch tweeter combine for a frequency response of 38Hz to 22kHz at -6dB, and 45Hz to 20kHz at around the 1.5dB mark, and sound pressure level of up to 110 decibels.

The Genelec 8340A

Genelec have worked in an array of elegant solutions to issues that speaker developers have been scratching their heads over for decades. The included Iso-Pod stand is just one, and can be accurately aimed at your ears while efficiently absorbing any mix-warping resonance. D.C.W stands for the Directivity Control Waveguide which balances the output beautifully while broadening the sweet spot. Meanwhile, the 'M.D.E.' (AKA the Minimum Diffraction Enclosure) explains the near-liquid curves of the housing, which don't just bear a sleek finish, but actively counter diffraction.

Another impressive feature of the 8340A is the S.A.M. tech support. This is one of Genelec's Smart Active Monitors which, via a computer and RJ45 network connection, this monitor can be tuned to match the space - a life-saving function if your working in a room with less-than perfect acoustics.
