General

The term 'FPX' in the Fluid Audio FPX7 active coaxial studio monitor stands for Fader Pro coaX, a series that has been built around this high-quality monitor. The FPX7 has a 7-inch woofer and an AMT tweeter (Air Motion Transformer), and while this combination isn't necessarily new, the way in which the AMT has been placed centrally inside the woofer is. The monitor is coaxial, which means the amplified sound originates from a single point. This ensures no subtle phase changes take place should you move your head while listening, which can sometimes happen with conventional studio monitors because the tweeter and the speaker are located in different places.

Features of the Fluid Audio FPX7

Together, the woofer and the AMT ensure a comfortable frequency response of 42 Hz - 27 kHz. That makes this monitor particularly suitable for mixing large-scale projects. For studio work, an RMS of 140 dB is more than enough, and because this is an active monitor, you won't need any extra amplification - all you need to do is plug it in! Connection options include XLR, balanced jack and unbalanced mini jack. Add to that the practical volume fader on the front and the FPX7 is your ideal monitor for big studio jobs!
