With the nEar08 eXtreme, ESIO offers an attractively priced active studio monitor that is particularly interesting for amateur producers that want to step up their mixing game. More experienced producers might also use the nEar08 for their daily activities, however. Most speakers in this price range have woofers made of paper or polypropylene. That is not necessarily a bad choice, but compare their sound to the nEar08's, which has a woofer made of fibreglass, and you'll definitely note the difference.
Characteristics of the ESIO nEar08 eXtreme active studio monitor
As an active monitor, the nEar08 eXtreme handles its own amplification (two times 70 W), which means it's possible to connect the speaker directly to an audio source. Its frequency range extends from 40 Hz to 20 kHz - perfect for a variety of music styles. The ESIO monitor is equipped with 8 and 1-inch speakers, a configuration that is often used for demanding mixing applications, such as orchestras and dance music. The nEar08 Extreme is available per piece, which is perfect if you need an uneven number for a 5.1 or 7.1 surround configuration.
