General

Avantone Pro are mainly known as the creators of many a famous studio classic. Their products have been reinterpreted in a modern way, however, so that they are ideal for use in contemporary studios! This cream-coloured MixTower is really an evolution of the MixCube. It can operate in two different modes - in the first, it functions as a MixCube whereby the monitor works as a reference speaker, whereas it functions as a three-way monitor in the full-range mode. You can therefore use it as a reference monitor and studio monitor.

Avantone Pro MixTower: Reference Speakers

As a lot of modern music is played over speakers that don't really do low frequencies properly - like those in laptops and TVs for instance- and so, you need to know what your mix sounds like through these sources. For a proper interpretation of the bass reproduction, you should use reference speakers like this MixTower. When it's in MixCube mode, the lows are limited, so that you can enjoy a perfect impression of the harmonics of your bass sound. The trebles have been rounded off so that you can clearly focus on the middle frequencies, where most of your mix can be found.

Overview

Mixing on only a reference monitor is quite an objective! Not to worry - in full-range mode you can enjoy all the details of your music in full-range quality. The crossover points are at 120 Hz and 1,800 Hz, and the MixTower can reproduce frequencies from 45 Hz to 38 kHz with a maximum sound pressure of 108 dB. Its woofer has a separate amplifier of 200 Watts and the tweeter and mid-speaker share a 100W amp. With this professional monitor you can carefully mix your music, but you can also make it suitable for speakers with limited capabilities.
