I have owned Sony MDR 7506 Studio Monitor Headphones for several years and they are absolutely superb. I was expecting these MDR 7510's to be better as they show a superior frequency response in the spec.

However, using my iPod touch as the music source, the mid range and treble is reduced compared to the 7506's.

This can be compensated for using the graphic equaliser, but I wasn't expecting to do this, nor like doing it.

I would like to a frequency response curve for both headphones showing dB against frequency or a +/- dB tolerance figure added to the spec.

One advantage with the 7510's is that they screen out the background noise better.

Aanrader!!!

THIS HEADPHONE IS NOT FOR HEARING MUSIC IN ITS WHOLE FREQUENCIES RANGE AND POWER

IT IS ONLY FOR STUDIO RECORDING MOMENTS AS TO MONITOR THE SOUND ENTERING LEVEL TO A TRACK OR TO A MIXER.....

IT PUSHES DOWN ALL FREQUENCIES GIVING A DRY OBSCURE AND THUS VERY CENTERED SOUND

THUS ITS SOUNDS IS DULL AS TO NOT IRRITATE THE RECORDING ENGINEER BUT IT IS OF NOT USE FOR MIXING MASTERING AND JUST APRECIATING RECORDED MUSIC

AS STATED IN ITS BOX ''SOUND MONITOR HEADPHONES'' not music monitor

even in french is more clear stated ''ECOUTEURS DE CONTROLE DE SON'' that is headphones to have the level control of a sound signal BUT not of musical signal

all music is SOUND but not every sound is music

THE TITLE IN THIS ITEM PAGE IS ALL ALONG MISLEADING THE BUYER SEARCHING FOR MUSIC HEADPHONES do not fall in this trap !!!!! THE MORE THAT YOU CAN NOT GIVE BACK THE HEADPHONES TO BAX-SHOP...READ THE CONDITIONS FOR RETURNS.....not accepted for any kind of headphones already opened from their plastic bags...!!! thus do not be trapped

3 years and 5 months later. The connection where the cable goes into the left earpiece is failing slowly; and I am losing sound in the right earpiece.
If I cannot get it fixed I will most likely get the same one, but I am hoping it will be easy to fix. I need multiple of these. (I also use them outdoors). Too much pulling from the coiled cord that gets entangled often when walking and moving. I doubt you would have this problem in a studio-only usage.

They also do great as ear warmers in winter. Also not unimportant. However the inside padding is chipping off in black leather or polymer pieces. Negligible, but still.

Samson Z Series Headphones Bridge the Gap

Friday 20 November 2015 By Lizanne

According to Samson, "the power of music is its ability to inspire connection". However, if the music in all its glory doesn't come through to the listener the way it was intended to, then inspiration is hard to muster. Samson has come up with the solution to this problem: the Z Series. Depending on your budget and sonic tastes, you can choose between 4 different sets of headphones: the Z25, Z35, Z45 or the Z55.
