If you're looking for a pair of high-quality professional studio headphones, then you'll have to decide whether you want an open or closed model. Carefully designed components

If you regularly sit through long mixing sessions, then you have to rely heavily on your headphones. They know that at AKG, and that's why every component, from the large 53mm drivers and dual-layer voice coils to the powerful 1.5 Tesla magnet system, was produced with the utmost care. All of the parts work together in perfect harmony to produce the most balanced, detailed, broad and dynamic audio image possible. It won't be any surprise then that it was AKG's goal to produce their best headphones yet with the K872s.

Isolation, comfort and durability

Closed headphones are the perfect choice if you want minimal audio interference from your environment. Furthermore, a closed design ensures minimal sound leakage, which is a must if you're working with sensitive condenser microphones. With the K872s, you can count on excellent isolation without that pressurised, pinched feeling, even after a long day of mixing. And of course, once you've logged hours and hours of use with these fine headphones, you can replace the ear cushions and cable and keep going!
