All the steel-string guitars from Yamaha's FG800 series have a high-gloss finish, save one: the FG800M's thin satin lacquer layer provides it with a striking appearance and gives the top slightly more freedom to resonate.

The extremely popular FG800 steel-string series have an enhanced scalloped bracing for more prominent bass and mid tones and an extra-comfortable slender neck with rolled fret edges. Speelt gemakkelijk en kwam in mijn geval netjes verpakt aan. Kon met een beetje stemmen direct aan de slag. Tot op heden heel veel plezier van.
Klinkt mooi sprankelend en ook de midden en lage tonen komen er mooi uit. Goede projectie.
De snaren die er standaard opzitten klinken niet verkeerd, maar later ga ik er toch waarschijnlijk Elixer snaren opzetten, dan klinkt hij nog mooier.
Hij is best mooi afgewerkt, alleen hier en daar op de kast, de zijkanten en achterkant, wat ruwere plekken in de matte lak en op de hals voelde het ook niet overal mooi egaal aan. Op de hals voorzichtig enigszins weggewerkt en nu voelt het prima!
Een gitaar waar je zeker tevreden mee kunt zijn, zowel als beginner of voor erbij als gevorderde.
