The Yamaha FG700S comes from a long tradition of wonderful FG acoustic folk guitars and is the perfect first guitar for a beginning guitarist. This Dreadnought is easy to play and has a surprisingly full and rich sound for a guitar in its price range. Its fantastic sound and playability are inherited from its big brothers in the L series. Honest sound from the Yamaha FG700S
The FG700S is an honest, reliable guitar and is literally cut from the right wood. The solid sitka spruce top of the FG700S, along with a nato body, reliable oil-bath tuners, and a slim nato neck with a 20-fret rosewood fretboard are all responsible for the beautiful sound of this guitar. The spruce top provides the outstanding resonance from the body and produces a warm sound with crystal-clear trebles. Nato makes up the rest of the guitar, this sort of wood is a type of eastern mahogany with a sultry yet defined tone.

Yamaha is known for its outstanding finishes, and you'll definitely notice that with this steel-string guitar. Just like the FG700MS, the body and neck of the FG700S are finished with an ultra-thin lacquer for a rich, natural sound. The back of the neck has a silky-soft matte lacquer which means you have a good grip but your fingers can still slide smoothly along the neck without sticking. The body features a sleek high-gloss lacquer for a radiant, chic look. The GF700s is simply and tastefully decorated with a multi-layer binding along the body and sound hole, a red tortoise pick guard, and a mother-of-pearl logo and decoration on the headstock.
