Takamine GD71-BSB: solid top dreadnought
This steel-string acoustic guitar features a dreadnought-model body, which is almost the largest size available except for the jumbo. As a result the GD71-BSB produces a very full, deep sound. Yet, thanks to its top made of solid spruce, it also provides an open, articulated sound. Its beautifully grained rosewood sides and back do not only look great, but also contribute to the warm yet bright sounds of the guitar. The top of the GD71-BSB is finished with a gorgeous Brown Sunburst high-gloss lacquer.
Hardware and details
The details of the Takamine GD71-BSB are subtle yet very tasteful. For instance, the fretboard is decorated with maple position markers. The bindings along the body, fretboard and headstock are also made of maple and the rosette and dots in the bridge pins have mother-of-pearl accents. This guitar is equipped with high-quality gold-plated tuners with appealing amber-coloured buttons. The split bridge saddle provides optimal intonation and clarity and is, just like the string nut, made of synthetic bone which makes for a better sound and doesn't wear as quickly as plastic does.
