General

The Seagull Walnut SG is available in a few different versions, and this is the Mini Jumbo edition. Robert Godin's Canadian company offers a unique instrument with this model, which features walnut wood for the sides and back. Just like all of Seagull's guitars, this guitar features a solid top, in this case it's solid spruce wood that was gathered in their own backyard. Spruce is known for producing a clear, pronounced sound, - a sound which is supported by tight lows provided by the walnut wood.

Walnut SG Mini Jumbo: body and finish

With a relatively deep body and detailed shape, the mini jumbo has a beautiful look. The branded stamp sound hole rosette provides excellent contrast with the white, natural finish. In fact, it is the custom polished finish that ensures that the Walnut SG Mini Jumbo not only looks great, but feels great too. The neck has an extremely supple feel, and it is accompanied by a 21-fret rosewood fretboard with white position markers.

Graph Tech Tusq

The string nut on this guitar is made of Tusq, a hard synthetic material produced by Graph Tech. Tusq is a self-lubricating material, which means that as a string nut it works to reduce string friction so your strings won't break as easily or as often. The compensated bridge saddle is made of the same material, and the bridge itself is made of rosewood for a lovely contrast with the light body. Another interesting feature of the Walnut SG is that the fretboard measures in at 47.7 mm wide, which is wider than your average western guitar to provide a more comfortable grip that's great for beginners and those accustomed to classical guitars.
