General

Rich and vintage-style sound and comfortable playability, fully support by the deluxe touch of a torrefied solid sitka spruce soundboard: this is the Merida Extrema J1GAC Junior Series Acoustic Guitar. This grand auditorium bodied guitar is a little more shallow and manageable than a dreadnought, while a deep, graceful cutaway at the base of the neck provides smooth access to each of the frets along the artificial-ebony fretboard - all amounting to a snug, and comfy playing feel.

The J1GAC: Torrefied Solid Sitka Spruce Soundboard

Putting more deluxe details within affordable reach, Merida have finished the J1GAC with a torrefied solid sitka spruce soundboard. where the wood has been slow-roasted in an oxygen-free environment to remove the moisture and alter the composition, giving this guitar the sound of a fully-played in, naturally aged model. This combines with the sapele back and sides to produce a sparkling, lush tone with plenty of presence.
