General
Since wood naturally matures over the years, so does the sound of an acoustic guitar. To speed up the maturation process, Merida Guitars have torrefied the solid sitka spruce soundboard of the J10DC and sealed it with an open pore finish. By torrefying (or gently roasting) the wood, any moisture evaporates off, leaving the wood lighter and more resonant, for a more played-in sound, while the African mahogany sides and back complete the full foundation of this dreadnought acoustic guitar with richness and warmth, as well as a dark and vintage look.

The neck has a natural finish that contrasts beautifully with the rest of the body. If you want one, you'll have to be quick though, because only 68 of these have been made!
