General

The Numa Concert by Studiologic is a high-quality keyboard that feels and sounds like a natural, acoustic piano. Its 88 solid-wood keys have a graded hammer action, which simulates the sensation of playing on an honest-to-goodness grand piano. The built-in sounds of the grand and stage pianos are the result of a physical modelling engine for an extensive 1GB sample bank. Simply put, the Numa Concert is a technologically advanced digital piano with an excellent keyboard and impressive sounds.

The Construction of the Numa Concert

Because the velocity sensitivity of this instrument's keys is similar to that of a grand piano, the Studiologic Numa digital piano allows you to add plenty of dynamic expression to your playing. The keyboard is graded as well, which means the weight decreases from bottom to top. You can adjust the velocity curves as desired using the function keys, cursors, a data encoder and a clear LCD display. The piano has a rugged, solid aluminium housing which makes it ideal for use on stage.

The Sound

Besides how it plays, the sounds of this realistic piano are vital for an optimal playing experience. A team of programmers, engineers, piano tuners, and professional session musicians were involved in recording the grand piano samples. Each key was sampled at nine different dynamic levels (from pianissimo to fortissimo) with multiple microphones, resulting in a whopping 1GB sample bank! When combined with a physical modelling engine, the Numa Concert is even capable of simulating resonance and overtones for a beautiful and authentic sound.
