The Nord Stage 2 EX88 is Clavia Nord's flagship product. With its fully-weighted 88-key Hammer Action Keyboard, it's the most impressive model in the range, which also features the smaller HP76 with a lightweight hammer action keyboard and the even smaller Compact with a waterfall keyboard. What the Stage 2 models have in common, is of course the extensive and highly realistic array of instruments that is better than ever now that the EX line is here. You'll have 1 GB of piano voices and an all new Sample Library at your disposal.

Stage 2 EX 88: piano, organ and synthesizer

The piano, organ and synthesizer sections are important ingredients to the Stage 2 EX 88. You can effortlessly switch from concert grand and vintage piano voices to B3, Farfisa and Vox organs, as well as various synthesizer sounds. These three sections can even be used simultaneously, and can all be doubled as well, resulting in a veritable plethora of possibilities. Thanks to the cleverly laid-out controls, its multitude of features are quick and easy to access. It gets even better with the Programming and Control sections, as they allow you to create presets without having to dive into complicated menus, for instance!

Effects and external instruments

By combining various sounds and adding effects, you can create your own sound that perfectly matches your pop, rock, or jazz band, for instance. You can use instrument effects like delay, chorus and wah, and even master effects like compressors and reverb. Furthermore, the Stage 2 EX features a 3-band EQ and various amp simulations. The latter in particular combine perfectly with the wide array of vintage piano voices. Finally, using external MIDI instruments and incorporating those into your layers, splits, zones and programs, can make the Stage 2 even more versatile!
