General

The sound of these legendary amps aren't only the result of the tube combination used; the speakers themselves also play an important role. Amplifiers like the Yamaha THR100H and the THR100H Dual are designed to emulate five different tube types extremely realistically. It's therefore vital that these kinds of amps consist of a speaker cabinet that reacts well to a wide range of amp sounds. The THR212 has been specifically designed for the THR100 amps. The speaker cabinet consists of two different Eminence speaker models that can be used both together or separately.

THR212C: Eminence 1218 and Eminence Tonker

When used together, the Eminence Legend 1218 and the Eminence Tonker deliver the right response to every tube combination imaginable. So, whether you configure your THR100H to sound like a vintage Tweed combo, or a modern high-gain amp with KT-88 end tubes, you'll always get the appropriate response from this flexible speaker cabinet. As mentioned before, you can use the speakers in combination, or hook them up separatelyusing the THR100H Dual. The Eminence Tonker is ideal for that classic American clean-and-crunch sound and tight high gain. With its balanced, lush sound, the Legend 1218 would be more suitable for that typical British feel.

Yamaha THRC212 2x12" guitar speaker cabinet
Wrote the following about Yamaha THRC212 2x12" guitar speaker cabinet

NAMM 2016: Extra Small and Extra Low With Peavey's 6505 Series

Monday 25 January 2016

The Peavey 6505 series is widely acclaimed, but apparently the amp manufacturer still felt something was missing from the lineup. That's why they've added two new products to the range. One is called the Piranha Micro Head, a 20W hybrid top that can practically fit into your jacket pocket. The other is the Guitar Subwoofer, a cabinet with an 18" speaker and 300 watts of power to beef up the low end. Together, they're a great pair.
