General

The famous and much loved tube amplifier sound is often the result of the synergy between a high-quality guitar amp and a dedicated speaker cabinet, designed to accompany the sonic characteristics of that amp. Yamaha has developed both the THRC112 and the THRC212 with this in mind. These speaker cabinets perfectly complement the versatile sounds, as well as the speaker and tube simulation, of the THR100H guitar amplifier. This is the 1x12 version with a closed rear and a 12" Eminence Legend 1218 speaker.

THRC112: lightweight and powerful

Weighing in at only 13 kg, the Yamaha THRC112 is easy to bring to gigs and practice sessions. With its one-inch thick walls, this cabinet is built like a tank! These speaker cabinets have a capacity of 150 watts, so despite their compact appearance, they pack a punch with a powerful tone. The 12" Eminence Legend 1218 also delivers a balanced sound with heavy bass tones and a warm mid-range. The Yamaha THRC112 ensures a direct sound reproduction, allowing the subtlety and dynamics of your playing to come through perfectly.

Yamaha THRC112 1x12" speaker cabinet
Wrote the following about Yamaha THRC112 1x12" speaker cabinet

Wrote the following about Yamaha THRC112 1x12" speaker cabinet

NAMM 2016: Extra Small and Extra Low With Peavey's 6505 Series

Monday 25 January 2016

The Peavey 6505 series is widely acclaimed, but apparently the amp manufacturer still felt something was missing from the lineup. That's why they've added two new products to the range. One is called the Piranha Micro Head, a 20W hybrid top that can practically fit into your jacket pocket. The other is the Guitar Subwoofer, a cabinet with an 18" speaker and 300 watts of power to beef up the low end. Together, they're a great pair.
