Uit de veel gebruikte Real Book-serie is de Hal Leonard The Real Book Volume II het tweede deel. Daarvan ziet u hier de versie voor Bb-instrumenten, zoals tenorsaxofoon, sopraansaxofoon en trompet. Net als de andere twee delen, toont het tweede boek de melodie en akkoorden van 400 jazz-klassiekers. Een absolute must voor wie zich serieus toelegt op jazz-improvisatie. De 440 bladzijdes worden bijeengehouden door een handige ringband.

De legendarische Real Book Volume II
Al sinds de jaren '70 maken muzikanten gebruik van de Real Books. Deze bundels werden, naar verluidt, ooit samengesteld door Amerikaanse conservatorium-studenten. De boeken waren hoe dan ook niet legaal, omdat er geen royalties werden betaald aan de componisten van de honderden jazz-standards. Hal Leonard publiceerde de eerste legale uitgave, in 2004, die grotendeels dezelfde songs bevat en waarin veel fouten zijn verbeterd. Deel II heeft bij deze uitgeverij 'Second Edition' als ondertitel.
