This 14 x 6.5-inch snare drum in Antique White is the ultimate addition to a Tama STAR shell set in the same finish, thanks to its deep, dark and vibrant sound.

Tama STAR Walnut 14 x 6.5-inch snare drum Antique White

When it comes to sound, walnut has a very distinct character, as this snare drum will prove. It sounds dark and focused, making it the perfect addition to a STAR Walnut shell set. This 14 x 6.5-inch snare drum offers the ideal balance between highs and lows, and between attack and sustain, thanks to its die-cast hoops. These hoops enhance the shell's focus even further and ensure that your rimshots and rimclicks pierce through any mix. If you tune this snare drum nice and low, it produces a fat slap, and if you crank it up it has a beautifully dry crack.

Lightweight snare drum with a vintage sound

As Tama used walnut in creating this snare drum, it is quite lightweight, which is a real boon to touring drummers. Furthermore, walnut gives the drum a very distinct sound. Its reach is comparable to that of maple and bubinga drums, but just a bit more subdued. In other words, it sounds nice and vintage.
