Bearing the unbelievable clarity, fast response, and broad tone of an ash shell, the Tama STAR Reserve Stave Ash snare has a unique sixteen-stave conga-style construction. This specific feature is exactly what raises the level of tonal depth far above that of a multi-ply or solid shell, and combined with Tama's Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon snare wire, the result is an extra bright, and extra crisp snare sound.

Incredibly, it’s been exactly 110 years since the German-American brothers William F. and Theobald Ludwig opened their first drum store, bearing the name ‘Ludwig & Ludwig’. The brothers started making bass drum pedals and soon expanded their production to include snare drums, kettle drums and every other flavour of drums and the rest is history, as they say.
